Record Meeting - Audio Only

What is the best way to record a meeting in the chapel for later audio-only playback?

Is there a 1/8" aka 3.5mm phone jack labeled something similar to 'record output' near the sacrament table or near the podium? If so, that should have line level.

If there is a working assisted listening receiver, its headphone output could be used. If the receiver controls its power by detecting the presence of headphones plugged in, that would require a Y-adapter and headphones or a resister or two. Depending on the output impedance of the receiver and your required S/N ratio, you might put the headphones inside a pillow to keep them from acting as microphones and feeding low-level room noise into the recording.

The Retekess V112 radio mentioned in another thread can receive the 72 MHz band used by many/most meetinghouse assisted listening systems. You'll have to find the exact frequency for your meetinghouse. My meetinghouse transmits on 72.9. Because the radio uses the headphone cable as its RF antenna, you might need to experiment to find a combination of Y-adapter, headphones, and recording cable that works for both RF and audio.

If none of those options work, please post again and somebody might have other/better ideas.

That may well be the default. In the case of my meetinghouse on 72.9, there is another denomination's building diagonally across the street and an elementary school directly across the street. Either of those might have already had a transmitter on 72.1.
