Prompt AI engineering for Generating Reports for Clerks

Post by azamorap »

Recently, here in my Country was requested by Seventy Elder to the Stakes to provide a Report every month about Youth and brothers baptized during last 12 months. I know that we can create new Reports, however, some information cannot be provided by the Report like to know if the member has sent names to the temple, about having an interview with the Bishop, etc. So I was thinking about something more dynamic like Prompt engineering. For example, I am typing the following in the New Reports option: “Please generate a new Report named XXXX, and include the following columns, X, Y, Z and include also a Column about if the member sent names to the temple, also if that Member has his/her annual interview with the Bishop, if the member has Initiated the process to go in a mission and Give me the output into a spredsheet and send me this Report by Monthly basis by email to the following Leaders and the Report will be there.

Because the Forum is basically just a user-to-user discussion forum, with nobody here having any authority or influence over feature implementation, making a suggestion here does not accomplish getting the suggestion implemented.

With existing LCR functionality, can you combine information from multiple existing reports to get to what is needed? If so, that's probably what you will need to do. If not, asking your stake president to raise that problem up his chain of command is probably the best option. If your area leadership asked for a report that cannot be produced with existing LCR functionality, then I would think that needs to be communicated back to the area leadership who asked for a report.

Using the Feedback button or link is another way to request new features, but it's not very likely to produce results.

Hi, unfortunately, there isn’t a Report providing information about the name of members who have sent names to the Temple this year, so basically is to ask them One by One. On the other hand, we are trying to get information from several individual reports, better to have together the information. Let me ask to my stake president to raise this concern with the Seventy if can be requested the Feature for having this Data available in the New Report functionality.

I believe that's true. Although you could ask the Ward Temple and Family History Consultants if they helped the new member. An affirmative report would mean you could skip asking the member.

Still, it would be annoying to have to ask every month.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

There's also the possibility that the actual request from the Area Seventy, is different from what was communicated at the ward/branch level. I have seen this before, and it might be helpful to verify exactly what was requested, and not what somebody assumed the request to be. For example, it could be that the request was intended not as a generated report, but as an initiative for local members to track this as part of ministering efforts, and then this information would be dscussed at ward councils, and then collected and shared upwards. So the info would be a natural outgrowth of ongoing member work, but with an additional task for a ward clerk to manually track.

That doesn't address your underlying desire for an AI-based interaction with LCR, which would be a cool feature, but may or may not align with the Church's current vision for leadership tools.
