ZOOM LICENSE and seeing things

#1

Post by munguia.brian »

I just got called as Stake Technology Specialist and my stake president gave me access to get zoom licenses for the stake. I saw the church announcement and follow the directions. But it looks like they set me up with a gmail and want me to do google meet and I don't need that. I need zoom licenses to give to several bishops in the stake. And we have a stake conference in a couple of months. How did it go?

Normally, it can take 24 hours (and sometimes longer) for you to get the "keys" to your calling. But I've seen a post that indicates there shouldn't be an significant delay here.

Do you have another calling that would grant you access to Google Meet? That seems to confuse the system.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

Hmmm I wonder if that could be the cause. Because I’m still the Stake Executive Secretary and maybe there’s a glitch on my end. Is there a number to call

This is a known issue for those with multiple callings. For now there is no work-around until Zoom and Church ICS work this out.

We have been using YouTube Live for our sacrament meeting which works great BUT we want to use the webinar feature for fast and testimony meeting. As addressed above i went to meet.churchofjesuschrist.org and was asked to sign up for a google suite account to use google meets.
I don't know if that is a pre-requested for the license with ZOOM, but would love to hear about it.

It is not a prerequisite. You now have a Google Meet account. You do not need one of those to obtain a Zoom account.

If you did not see a Zoom link at the Meet Portal site, what you need to do is ask your Stake Assistant Clerk -- Technology Specialist to obtain a Zoom account for your ward and send you the email and password information to access it. Then you will be able to do what you wish to do with a fully featured Zoom account paid for by the Church. If your STS is on his toes, your ward may already have an account, and your bishopric might even know about it.

I am currently the Assistant Technology Specialist. Our Technology Specialist moved during the pandemic. So I assume I don't have the rights to obtain the account.
I will contact my stake to make the efforts.

PS
stake and ward leaders knew nothing about a zoom licenses when i reached out to them :?
