How to enroll unit computer in Microsoft Intune

Post by ulupoi »

Hello Everyone,

In CCAM, almost all of our stake's computers are showing as not having checked in for at least a year, and they are showing as running Windows 10 Pro even though they have long been running Windows 11. I called GSC, and the rep told me that the computers check in via Microsoft Intune, that the only way to enroll them is to reimage the computer, and that we are not missing out on anything by not being enrolled except for the CCAM management functions.

Does anyone know of another way to re-enroll our unit computers with Microsoft Intune so that they check-in properly? Reimaging our computers just to re-enroll them is something that I would like to avoid. If reimaging is the only solution, I will probably just leave them as they are.

Thank you!

Look over Setting Up a New Clerk Computer starting with Step 6. That's probably how they were supposed to be originally added.

Thanks for the suggestion. Steps 7-10 seem to contain instructions for updating asset information and enrolling in management if not already enrolled.

Is there anything else that might be causing the computers to not check in? They were initially enrolled, which is why they show up on CCAM in the first place, but almost all of our stake's computers are not checking in anymore.

Our computers seemed to have a factory image that caused a custom install on first powerup. I'm not sure how they were initially enrolled, given all the questions it asked me. It might have been enrolled via scanning the barcode on the box when it was shipped.

I'm not sure what to suggest other then re-running the provisioning tool. I do have our computers set up in the BIOS to auto-power on at 2AM on Wednesdays to get updates. They're also set up to hibernate if unused after 4 hours. Maybe they're having trouble checking on on sort Sunday runtimes.
