Full-time missionary emails

Possibly there's an intentional "separation of powers", as it were, with the intended lines of communication from wards to missionaries being through the Ward Mission Leaders. I'm not stating this is desirable, as I'm sure there's lots of reasons for wards to want to communicate directly with them via email. Just trying to see if there's a potential reason beyond the fact that it just hasn't been implemented.

My ward's RS President asked if we could create out-of-unit records for the assigned missionaries so they could get the emails. This seems like an administrative nightmare. What other pitfalls would it have? Or any other ideas besides have the WML forward all group emails?

In the MemberTools app, I can see our assigned missionaries and there is an email button to send them an email.
In LCR, our missionaries are listed with their mission email address visible.

While that doesn't help those who just want to click a button to include them in the Send A Message tool, it is certainly not difficult to include them in ward/branch communications using other methods.

Missionaries in some places cover multiple wards or stakes. Where I live, the missionaries cover two stakes. While it's helpful to keep missionaries in the loop, I think it's good that they aren't automatically included in emails that get sent out from each ward and stake, as the number of emails could go up dramatically based on how many wards they cover. In addition to the amount of emails, it would be a pain to try to figure out which emails are from which wards, given that emails from Send a Message don't automatically specify which ward they're from.

That is a good point. In our area, we usually have one set of missionaries per ward but there have been times when we shared missionaries with other wards. When my daughter served her mission in Utah, she had one or more stakes to cover. I personally don't think adding them to the Send A Message tool is the right place - their email addresses area available (at least for our ward) for situations where the ward/branch feels they need to be included.
