Cochlear implants

#1

Post by Mikerowaved »

I was recently asked if there was anything our sound system or assisted listening devices could do to further help a person with a cochlear implant. I'm not at all familiar with these implants, except what I may have gleaned from a few Rush Limbaugh shows where he spoke about his.

Does anyone have any recommendation I could pass along to this individual? Thanks!

Both Comtek and Listen Technologies offer "Neck loops" that plug into the earphone jack of the receiver. It magnetically couples the signal to compatible hearing aids and implants.

How much FM would help in this, I have no idea. But it's worth asking.
