AV Distribution Overview

Audio and video (AV) distribution is the process by which audio and video are moved from one point of a meetinghouse to other areas of the building.
Audio technology engineers design AV systems for meetinghouses. It is the responsibility of the technology specialist to know how to connect AV devices to the right inputs and outputs throughout the buildings.
A/V systems vary greatly from area to area and from building to building in the Church. The articles found in this section are intended to provide general guidelines that should apply to most meetinghouses within the Church.
TS RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use microphones (wired or wireless)
- Ensure high quality choir and organ audio transmissions for local webcasts (such as stake conference)
- Connect playback devices to the AV system
- Troubleshoot AV distribution
- Use audio systems to overcome linguistic barriers
- Assisted Listening Systems (ALS)
- American Sign Language (ASL) Support
- Closed-Captioning
- Setting Up Interpretation Equipment
FM GROUP RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess the functionality of AV systems
- Contract out the installation of AV systems
- Contract out the replacement of AV components and complete AV systems
