AI Live Interpretation for Sacrament Meetings Pilot
Overview
The purpose of the article is to provide information to individuals who are assisting with a pilot of AI-based interpretation tools.
Pilot Purpose
Artificial intelligence (AI) is an emerging tool with significant potential to assist the Church in accomplishing God’s work of salvation and exaltation. Properly using AI will help the Church achieve its divine purposes more effectively and efficiently.1
One application of AI being investigated and tested is related to live interpretation. Several AI-based live interpretation tools are being piloted and tested in locations across the globe. While the application of such technologies may benefit many Church events, the focus of this pilot is focused on in-person worship services - primarily sacrament meetings.
Pilot Scope
Multiple vendor tools will be tested during this pilot. If your Area/unit is participating in the pilot, the timing of when each will be tested may vary slightly. The Church Publishing Services Department team will coordinate the exact timings with you. The following are the vendor tools being evaluated in the pilot:
Feedback Surveys Instructions
A key part of the pilot is receiving feedback from those who listened to the interpretation as well as those who setup and prepared the tool for use. Please have everyone share their experience using the survey that applies to their role.

Recordings and Transcripts
Please record each meeting that you are testing an AI interpretation tool. Following the meeting, send the recording and transcript back to your headquarters contact. These will help complete additional analysis on the quality and accuracy of the interpretation.
Troubleshooting Help
Please see the details provided on each of the tool’s pages as the troubleshooting steps for each may vary during the pilot – links above.
Contacts
If you have questions, please contact Matthew Havertz – Church Publishing Services Department.
The pilot testing began in July 2025. It might be too late to join the pilot. For Areas that may be interested in participating in the future, approval from the Area Presidency is required as well as some additional unit, contact, and language information.
