Training checklists
All too frequently record keepers learn their responsibilities through a haphazard process of on-the-job trial and error. Below are checklists to ensure that members with record-keeping responsibilities are properly oriented, trained (even "certified", if you like), as qualified to perform their callings well.
The clerk wiki is a valuable resource packed with information, but a newly called clerk needs a guide (a simple lesson plan, really) to navigate the content, moving from basic to more complex concepts, in an order that makes sense. The checklists below could follow the order found in the designs of the record-keeping and technology support training on lds.org, but this is not a requirement.
Each item in the checklist should be brief. Do not try to explain policies and procedures here. Simply link from an item in the checklist to the explanation in an appropriate content source (another wiki page, an online lesson, a notice, or some other document). If the explanation isn't available, start a new page for it. As these checklists grow we can create individual pages for each.
